My client wanted me to create a series of educational type posters for their university. They wanted the posters to each use a single font and have informative information about that font. They wanted them to each feel like they belong together.
As posters go, I wanted these to be appealing to the eye more than anything. Once you draw the viewer in, they can start to pick out the many different pieces of information. I made different bodies of text different sizes and facing different direction, all nicely fit into the area together. I brought in the alphabet and the set of numbers as they are commonley included in type specimen sheets. I made the hierarchy go name of font, designer, date, and then text bodies. Each poster has a similar layout with subtle changes to fit the font itself. Not one thing on the posters is anything but what is included in the font.
