Family Photo Shoot

Challenge:

Client wanted a small photo shoot done of their family for Christmas cards and picture frames. They wanted the photos to feel warm and inviting as well as a cozy “vibe”. They wanted to get the essence of the forest behind them without drawing too much attention.

Creative Solution:

While still keeping the forest feeling lively, I had the family stay in a shaded area, both to keep their features soft, as well as to limit the colors of the forest from overpowering them. I made sure to follow along with the child to gain the most natural, happy photos possible. I edited the photos with a higher vibrancy and saturation to really make the family as well as the background come to life. I also raised the warmth slightly to give them that warm and inviting feel they were looking for. I normally love vingettes, however, I felt in this case it would take away from the background they wanted. Without, the family feels more one with nature.

Proposal

The Vision:

To Capture him proposing to his girlfriend. He wanted an intimate and warm mood that brought out the candle light asthetic.

Creative Approach:

I brightened up the images just enough to be vivid and saturated, while keeping a deep contrast to enhance the candle light mood. I wanted a mixture of close up shots and wider shots that show their decor.
